Hi All;
is WinRunner & LoadRunner were written in the same scripting langauge? I mean if i understand WinRunner scripts and can modify it, can i do the same with LoadRunner or should i study/learn LoadRunner scripting first?

If you truly understand any scripting or programming language then it doesn't matter if they are the same or not because you will be able to pick the other one up rather easily

They are diffferent. WinRunner code is a variant of interpreted C (with some differences), called TSL. LoadRunner code is straight ANSI, compiled C. TSL code will not run under LoadRunner. Modifying LoadRunner scripts uses all (and only) the rules of C.

Yes, indeed. You will find yourself doing less coding in LoadRunner compared to WinRunner, however. The nature of load/stress testing does not need the intensive coding that GUI navigation and functional testing require.

Any decent technician can be successful with WinRunner/LoadRunner coding. It is more challenging being able to know what to script and the limits of automation. As with any development, you will strive to build a robust architecture and reusable functions.

Good Luck.
