Absolutely agree with that Joe, but I'd put that sort of benefit in context or to put it another way - enterprises that decide that test automation is a good idea tend to have a greater expectation.So perhaps the way to approach this is to clarify the benefits and limitations of the non-oracle approach upfront and let the enterprise decide whether they want to use that route as a stepping stone to the greater goal.
However if they explicitly decide they want to work towards the greater goal from the outset, i.e automation that includes automated verification, is it unreasonable to opine that they will not be ready to embark on this until they have devised their test oracle.
