Performance = Speed
Load = Volume

Very simplistic but an easy way to remember.
Performance can be how fast or efficiently the AUT operates on certain platforms, in conjunction with other applications etc.

Load testing can the test of how many users can be logged into the application at one time before performace erodes. I've also heard it described as 'how much data you can throw at an app before it crashes'.

Please go to the Performance and Load testing forum and do a search. We have discussed definitions to death. If you have questions after doing a search, ask us there and we will be happy to help you find the answers you are looking for.

Thanks Jean!

Once again, we have discussed this hear pretty completely, but here is the (very) short version.

Stress testing is testing for unrealisticly high (stressful) loads or load patterns.

Performance testing is testing under expected load conditions.
